Celebrate the Blues with New Bourbon Whiskey and Ruby Port Wine Blue Cheeses
GREENWICH, Conn., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- For any cheese tray, salad or recipe, these new outstanding, gourmet blue cheeses make a real celebration.
Whiskey Blue(TM) and Winey Blue(TM) cheeses from Wisconsin have been introduced by Ulla Nylin, the creator of Swedish Vodkacheese(TM) several years ago. "VOD Gourmet is using the same processes we use in Sweden. It is especially rewarding to be working with the Wisconsin artisan cheesemakers," says Nylin.
The Whiskey Blue is aged with bourbon whiskey which adds a smokey flavor. The Winey Blue is also a truly thoroughbred American Blue aged with a ruby port from California. "I searched across the States to find the finest blue cheese and found it -- a spectacular Wisconsin Blue just perfect for our delicious and creamy Whiskey Blue and Winey Blue cheeses," says Nylin.
"We introduced our Blues at the Food and Wine Experience in Minneapolis and the praises of the taste testers were rewarding," says Nylin. "Comments like: 'Creamy, hint of smokey flavor,' 'Creamy with the port's sweetness,' 'Why didn't anyone think of this before!'"
"Well, it does take time to develop a new cheese, over two years," says Nylin. "It takes time to get the recipe just right, to know the time the cheese needs to age with the added liquid, and of course, cheese is temperamental -- it needs tender loving care and attention throughout the process."
