Outstanding Canadian Choir to Sing Around England

OTTAWA, Canada, March 7/PRNewswire/ -- Over 45 young ladies of the senior choir of Havergal College, a private school in Toronto, Canada, conducted by Caroline Spearing, will present the following concerts:

Choir Background

The Senior Choir plays an integral part in the life of Havergal College. It is expected to perform at all official functions for the school, such as Communion Services, the Annual Carol Service and Founders' Day. The choir is made up of girls ages 14-19, and my of the choristers are avid instrumentalists as well as singers. Along with its function as a Church choir within the school, the choir performs secular concerts. For the past few years they have been competing in the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival and last year, they were awarded first place in the "A" class with a mark of 95.

This is the fourth time that the Senior Choir from Havergal has toured England. In the past, the choir has sung at Westminster Abbey, Durham Cathedral, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and Coventry Cathedral and is eager to return to England in March to sing in Canterbury Cathedral, the Havergal Old Girls Luncheon, Rickmansworth School, St. Paul's Cathedral, Ely Cathedral, Cheltenham Ladies College, St. Peter's Church (Astley), and Coventry Cathedral.
