AMF Exploring Strategic Options for Its Billiards & Games Division
AMF Exploring Strategic Options for Its Billiards & Games Division RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- AMF Bowling Worldwide, Inc. ("AMF") announced today that it is exploring strategic alternatives for its Billiards & Games division located in Bland, Missouri. The company has retained Stifel, Nicolaus and Company, Incorporated as its financial advisor to manage the process. "AMF Billiards & Games is a healthy business and one of the top three billiards manufacturers in the United States," said Fred Hipp, AMF's President and CEO. "Our Board of Directors is evaluating all aspects of the company's business and how the different pieces fit together. We are going to determine whether it would be best for us to continue to invest in and run Billiards & Games or whether a favorable sale of the division to a company that wants to focus on the billiards business makes more sense." "AMF Billiards & Games is in the final months of a multi-year program that has improved both its order fulfillment and its manufacturing process," said John Walker, Chief Operating Officer of AMF Bowling Products. "Exploring these strategic options will not adversely impact day-to-day operations or the company's ability to service customers." AMF Billiards & Games is a manufacturer and market leader offering the broadest range of products in the billiards industry under its popular PlayMaster, Highland Series and Renaissance product lines.
