TransMedia Group To Publicize Documentary 'FATHER JOSEPH' at Palm Beach International Film Festival About The Indefatigable Spirit Of A Man Who Has Lifted Thousands Of People Out Of Poverty
PALM BEACH, Fla., March 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The PR firm TransMedia Group (www.transmediagroup.com) has been retained by Floating World Pictures, producers of the documentary FATHER JOSEPH, at this year's Palm Beach International Film Festival (www.pbifilmfest.org). Bob Schieffer of CBS News said, "FATHER JOSEPH is an uplifting story of the difference one person can make in the world. If there is such a thing as a man of God, surely it is Father Joseph."
The festival will screen FATHER JOSEPH April 8 and April 12 at The Palm Beaches Theatre, 250 S. Ocean Blvd. TransMedia said it is eager to bring attention to Father Joseph Philippe's life-changing work.
"Father Joseph has overcome so many obstacles, and he's never lost his vision or sense of humor. Through education for the poor and empowering peasant women, he is helping build democracy and hope in Haiti. It's an inspiration for people everywhere," said Jeff Kaufman, the director of FATHER JOSEPH, "We are excited about TransMedia connecting people in Florida, and around the country, to Father Joseph and the film."
"We've already begun to facilitate relationships for this film, including U.S. State Kenpo Champion and Haitian decent fashion designer Shy Figaro (www.ShyFigaro)," said TransMedia President Adrienne Mazzone. "Shy is a huge advocate for restoring and supporting Haiti and looks forward to meeting Father Joseph."
"Father Joseph has survived political violence and the 2010 earthquake, said Mazzone, "The film shows how this remarkable man built the largest micro-finance bank in Haiti, a 700-student K-14 school, an orphanage, a clean water project, a health clinic, a radio station, and the first rural college in Haiti. Somehow, he never stops."
TransMedia said it will publicize quotes by celebrities like Willem Dafoe, who said "This inspiring film challenges my sense of my place in the world and what my responsibility is to others." Reza Aslan said, "FATHER JOSEPH is funny, warm, and invigorating and one of the most inspiring, life-affirming documentaries I have ever seen."
"We intend to fill theatre seats, introduce Father Joseph to media, and make sure the entire film team feels a Palm Beach warm welcome," said Alexandra Flugel, TransMedia VP of Social Media & PR.
"We'll encourage the public to post, share, Tweet about the film!"
