Donald Trump "To Build Wall Around Little Italy" in New Episode of The Cannolis

The creators of The Cannolis, a cartoon satire in the tradition of Family Guy meets The Sopranos, have created a spoof of Donald Trump for their latest short cartoon episode.

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Dec. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cannolis creators are not afraid to take on all sorts of topics, including politics. The latest short release from the creators of this satirical cartoon that has its roots in shows such as Family Guy and The Sopranos is a spoof of none other than Donald Trump, one of the current presidential candidates.

In the episode, Trump is featured speaking to a group of supporters in Little Italy, an area of New York that Trump notes "is only three blocks long." Speaking in front of the Cannoli's cafe, Trump promises the supporters that he will build a "great wall" around Little Italy to keep out the Chinese, whom he claims are his friends, and will get Mexico to pay for it. "Nobody builds walls better than me," Trump states, "'cause that's what I do. I'm a builder."

The satirical episode is based, in part, on recent statements by the candidate that have caught the media's attention. Trump has been criticized for his stance on immigration, but the creators of The Cannolis have managed to turn this serious topic into a comedy. In keeping with the comic treatment of other serious subjects throughout the show, The Cannolis has once again turned the tables and created comedy from today's headlines.

The satirical cartoon will be used to promote the premiere of The Cannolis, a new television program that will feature the voice talents of Vincent Pastore, Ramona Rizzo, Joy Behar, Mario Cantone, Mitchel Musso, Jenn "Jwoww" Farley, Steven Maglio and Gerard Maccioli. The show focuses on the life of Dominic Cannoli, a first-generation Italian-American whose family walks the line between organized crime and honest business.
