PRI names Alison Ranney to its Board of Directors

MINNEAPOLIS, July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Public Radio International (PRI) announces the appointment of Alison P. Ranney to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Ranney leads the Chicago office of Koya Leadership Partners, a national retained search and human capital consulting firm dedicated to serving the nonprofit field. She has a decade of experience in executive search with Koya and the global recruiting firm Russell Reynolds Associates. Ranney has a vibrant national practice partnering with a broad range of nonprofit clients to recruit their senior-most leaders. Her clients include cultural institutions, foundations, professional organizations, colleges, universities and other nonprofits.

With a strong commitment to civic involvement, Ranney has been active on numerous boards and in other capacities. She served on the Board of Directors for Chicago Public Media/WBEZ for 12 years and was Chair of its recent successful CEO Search Committee. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Goodman Theatre and the Donors Forum of Illinois. In the past, Ranney was a Founding Board Member of City Year Chicago, on the Board of Ryerson Woods Conservation Area, and a member of the Visiting Committee of the University of Chicago Law School. She was selected as an Emerging Leader by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and through that program is leading a Civic Engagement project designed to further cement Chicago's place as a global city. As a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, she serves as Vice Chair of the Membership Committee for the Nonprofit Sector.

Ranney's expertise evaluating and placing leaders across the nonprofit field, in combination with her previous professional experience in business and law, will enable her to bring new insights to PRI as it adapts to a rapidly changing media world.
