BBC Earth's new digital home brings global audiences something amazing every day

NEW YORK, Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BBC Earth, the BBC Worldwide factual brand behind global blockbusters such as Planet Earth, Walking with Dinosaurs and Blue Planet, today launches its new digital home on BBC.com/earth across the U.S. and Canada. The stunning site captures BBC Earth's passion for adventure and exploration by bringing visitors a virtual feast of incredible imagery, world class videos and stories that offer visitors a new perspective on the world.

BBC Earth Editor, Matt Walker, the former news editor at New Scientist and current editor of BBC Food and BBC Nature, is working alongside a number of BBC Earth's network of experts in science and nature.

The site's Amazing Moments section will publish new compelling Natural History clips every day, debuting with Attack of the Praying Mantis; the Discoveries strand will propose answers to fascinating questions like Are Dolphins Cleverer than Dogs?; Strange & Beautiful will take a deeper look into subjects such as The Twisted World of Sexual Organs.A Colourful Life will serve as home to specially commissioned short films and content exploring the beauty of nature through color, beginning with Life in White, a study of nature's polar ice caps.

BBC Earth on BBC.com will feature content that complements the jaw-dropping natural history programming on BBC AMERICA's 'Earth Night' every Tuesday and builds on the existing portfolio of BBC.com's feature sections BBC Autos, BBC Capital, BBCCulture, BBC Future and BBC Travel.
