TORONTO, July 9, 2014 /CNW/ - CTV's THE AMAZING RACE CANADA returned for its second summer run last night, instantly
re-establishing itself as the #1 program of the summer*. As 11 teams
from across Canada battled challenges not for the faint of heart -
including an icy zip line and skydiving challenges - more than 2
million viewers (preliminary overnight data) tuned into the second
season premiere on CTV, making it the most-watched premiere of any
series this summer, and the #1 Canadian premiere of the 2013/14
broadcast season. Overall, 3.6 million unique viewers watched some part
of the premiere, which peaked at 2.3 million viewers before Jon
Montgomery revealed that Shahla and Nabeela had been eliminated from
the first leg of the race. Final data for last night's season premiere
to be released when available.
Last night's episode will encore this Friday, July 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Saturday, July 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and Sunday, July 13 at 5 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO - and is available now on demand at CTV GO.

total viewers and all key demos nationally.
-- The season debut led the night among total viewers and key
demos (A25-54, A18-49) in all markets.
-- In Toronto, the premiere delivered a 7.2 rating for total
viewers and 6.9 for A25-54. More than one in four adults in all
key demos watching television in Toronto were tuned into the
broadcast.
-- In Edmonton, the premiere delivered an impressive 5.9 rating
for A25-54, 6.5 A18-49, and 8.0 for A18-34.
Throughout the broadcast, THE AMAZING RACE CANADA trended on Twitter across Canada as fans flocked to social media to
live tweet throughout the season premiere. More than 6,000 mentions of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA-related terms were tweeted in the 24 hours surrounding the broadcast
generating more than 14 million estimated impressions.
Next week on THE AMAZING RACE CANADA (Tuesday, July 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO), teams race to surfing hotbed in Tofino, B.C. As the
race heats up, some of the teams start to lose their cool. At the
Detour, things turn a little fishy, while some teams struggle not to
wipe out from the race.
