D'Souza's America Movie Draws Celebs To Hollywood Premiere As Talk Radio King Rush Limbaugh Urges Audience To Flood Theaters

Provocative Film Opens Nationwide Today

LOS ANGELES, July 2, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On the eve of the July 4(th) holiday weekend, Rush Limbaugh urged his millions of listeners to see the provocative new film America, which opens today in more than 1,100 theaters. The new film was created by bestselling author Dinesh D'Souza and the Academy Award-winning producer of Schindler's List,Gerald R. Molen and directed by John Sullivan.

"In a rare move for the No. 1 talk radio host, he begs his audience to see the movie which he compares to 'It's A Wonderful Life'," noted The Hollywood Reporter.

On the July 1 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, which is heard on more than 600 stations, Limbaugh told his audience the new film does "an incredible job of telling a story, using images and words and music to make you think."

"Remember the movie It's A Wonderful Life? Jimmy Stewart's guardian angel shows him what Bedford Falls would have been like had he not been born." The new film addresses the question: What would the world be like if there were no America?"

"You'll be inspired by it," Limbaugh continued. "It talks about the enemies of America. A lot of people don't wish this country well. The idea that America is the problem in the world, that movement's long existed, and it gave us many modern-day Democrats."

A star-studded L.A. red carpet premiere attracted 1,000 people, including actors Jon Voight, Stacey Dash, John Ratzenberger, Orson Bean, Alley Mills and many others.

America is the follow up by the team that created the runaway hit 2016: Obama's America which grossed $33.4 million to become the second-highest grossing political documentary in history after Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911.

"If its predecessor is any guide, the movie will start in a few theaters, it'll grow and then word-of-mouth is going to build it and build it. It'll end up being huge," Limbaugh said Tuesday. Hear the audio below.
