LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Altar Identity Studios (a Media Society company) announced their co-production and financing deal with Donna Gigliotti, Academy Award® Best Picture winner for SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE (also nominated for THE READER, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK), James Spies (THE CONTENDER) and J. E. Craig (Broadway's FIRST DATE) for the feature film version of 'BIG STONE GAP'.

Based on the international best-selling series of novels by Adriana Trigiani, the film stars Ashley Judd, Patrick Wilson and Whoopi Goldberg. Having originally penned the story as a screenplay, Adriana Trigiani makes her directorial debut when filming begins October 19th.

The deal for Big Stone Gap was negotiated by Graham Taylor at WME with Wade Bradley and Helen Rosenberg at Altar Identity Studios.
