Thriller/Horror script development house announces several new feature film projects and makes surprising leap into television comedy and sci-fi arenas

Despite being known mainly for developing thriller/horror projects - a genre that has been recently setting box office records - Carbia maintains her excitement about the decision to branch out into relatively new territory.
"Writing thriller and horror screenplays will always be my first love. However, I started as a playwright writing comedies early in my career, and really enjoy the camaraderie that comes along with working with a team of individuals that make you laugh out loud."
Of those projects slated for development, three feature-length films are in line with Zohar's thriller/horror tradition including Black Acre - the story of a public relations guru hunted down by a psychotic woman he wronged in the past; Yoruba, a historical horror film set on a slave ship in 1745, and Daughters of Marie Laveau, a paranormal horror film based on some of Carbia's own childhood experiences growing up in a haunted house.
However, the two most unexpected projects are Dear Luna - a television comedy series that follows the life of an aging "gold-digger turned author" and Z.O.O. - a sci-fi thriller about a woman abducted by extra terrestrial beings only to find they are creating a zoo from earth.
The company is set on creating projects aimed at a variety of production budgets ranging from micro-budget financing, to a studio-backed feature ideal for summer popcorn audiences.
As such, Zohar Films will be looking for full-production and distribution partners to help bring these projects to audiences worldwide. For more information about the company, please visit: http//www.zoharfilms.com
