LONDON, September 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

'AKONG - A Remarkable Life' needs GBP130,000 to finish the first ever documentary film
about the inspirational life of Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche: Tibetan Buddhist spiritual
leader, teacher and doctor of Tibetan medicine. Through his powerful message of
loving-kindness and compassion and his humanitarian work around the world, Akong Tulku
Rinpoche has benefitted the lives of countless people. This film aims to make his
inspirational life story available to future generations.

Researching and interviewing are already well under way on the film. Thus far the
project has been self-funding. However, moving into the principle phase of production, a
significant budget is required in order to gather crucial footage from around Europe, Asia
and Africa.

The GBP130,000 amount raised through Indiegogo will be used for production and
post-production costs such as: Travel to Europe, Tibet, India and Nepal in order to
conduct further interviews and produce additional footage, music production, licensing
fees, editing & colour grading, graphics design, DVD production & distribution and foreign
language subtitling.

The film AKONG - A Remarkable Life tells his fascinating story through a series of
interviews and vignettes of this extraordinary man and his remarkable life.

From his birth in Eastern Tibet in 1941 and his recognition as a reincarnate Tulku,
fleeing to India in 1959 when tension between China and Tibet reached breaking point, and
crossing the Himalayans by foot at the age of nineteen on a dangerous journey that took
the lives of many Tibetans. Moving on to his arrival in England in 1963 with Chogyam
Trungpa Rinpoche and founding Kagyu Samye Ling, the first Tibetan Buddhist monastery in
the west.

To founding ROKPA, an international charity that provides help to people around the
world, Akong Rinpoche at the age of 73, continues to lead an active life supervising many
projects that reach out to thousands of people in need.

"What Akong has achieved in life, is beyond the imagination of ordinary beings. And
his example, is an inspiration for all of us", begins Chico Dall'Inha, producer and
director of AKONG - A Remarkable Life.

"We would like you to become involved to bring this story to the world stage",
Dall'Inha continues, then adds "This film, is for all of us who have been inspired by
Akong's powerful message of compassion".

general public. The project sets a target for the money it wants to raise and explains how
it will use the cash. People can then make pledges for small amounts of money in return
