NEW YORK, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Decaydance/Columbia Records has set August 17th, 2010 as the release date for Beneath It All, the highly anticipated sophomore album from pop-rock group Hey Monday. Fans can get a first taste now with an audio stream of "Wish You Were Here" at www.heymondaymusic.com. There will also be a deluxe pre-order package available, which includes the full length CD, a limited edition 7" of "Wish You Were Here" and "Mr. Pushover," a vinyl covered photo album made from the Hey Monday 7", an exclusive poster, a one year subscription to Alternative Press Magazine, an instant download of "Wish You Were Here" and an MP3 download of the full album on the day of release.
Hey Monday is made up of Cassadee Pope (lead vocals/guitar,) Mike Gentile (lead guitar/vocals,) Alex Lipshaw (rhythm guitar/vocals) and Michael (Jersey) Moriarty (bass/vocals.) Since releasing their debut album Hold on Tight two years ago, the band has sold nearly 500,000 songs, graced the cover of several magazines in the United States and overseas, and have received over 28 million plays on MySpace. Their music has been featured on MTV's "The Hills" and "The Real World: Brooklyn" and the band will appear on "Silent Library" on June 30th. Hey Monday has garnered a worldwide fan base including 150,000 followers on Twitter and over 160,000 Facebook fans. The band is currently featured in Samsung's "Recycle" campaign which launched in 9,000 schools last month and Cassadee has a signature line of shoes with Macbeth coming out in July, 2010.
The band will spend the months leading up to the album's release out on the road with the Warped Tour. The West Palm Beach, Florida natives are no strangers to the road. They have toured the U.S. six times with bands such as Fall Out Boy, Cobra Starship and Metro Station.
All of the new songs were co-written by lead singer Cassadee Pope and the title of the album is a reference to her brutally honest lyrics. Pope found inspiration in her life and the songs cover subjects including love, bitterness, relationships, friends and family. The collection showcases a cohesive, organic sound that came from the band working so closely together for the past two years. For the new album they teamed up with a variety of collaborators including Matt Scannell (Vertical Horizon,) Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman (The Hooters,) Sam Hollander and Dave Katz (Boys Like Girls, Cobra Starship) and Butch Walker (Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry) who developed such a rapport with Hey Monday that they were able to help the band tap into a more mature pop sound without losing sight of who Hey Monday is. The new album demonstrates how much the band has grown together in recent years while also capturing the energy and authenticity that Hey Monday fans know and love and that has earned the band wide critical acclaim.
