Superbowl in June??
COPENHAGEN, Denmark, June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- While the rest of the world is absolutely occupied with the World Cup in South Africa... you know, the kind of football where you can't use your hands, and your kicker would be useless. Well then here at BANDIT we've decided to have a look at the Superbowl.
Why is the Superbowl in January 2011 even remotely interesting, when the season start is in September? Well:
"Fox has sold as much as 80% of its ad inventory for the Super Bowl, according to a person familiar with the situation, a signal that advertisers are moving earlier than ever to secure good positions in TV programming that still has the power to secure a broad audience."
So in June, 3 months before a single game is played and 6 months before the game, for which the ads have been sold, airs, the $2.8 - $3 million spots are almost sold out... and this in a time where everyone's supposedly watching less TV.
Well we have a theory!
