NYC Jewish Groups Take Action for Haiti Relief

"Jewish Artists for Haiti" Benefit Concert To Raise Thousands Jan. 28th

NEW YORK, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jewish organizations throughout New York are responding to the urgent needs of Haiti earthquake victims. On January 28th at 7 pm, The Jewish Artists for Haiti Benefit Concert sponsored by Manhattan-based Workmen's Circle and The New Yiddish Repertory Theater will bring together more than 30 leading Jewish artists in a three-hour concert at the Upper West Side's Stephen Wise Free Synagogue. All proceeds from the concert will go directly to The American Jewish World Service Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund. Admission is a minimum donation of $18.

Said Ann Toback, Executive Director of the activist organization Workmen's Circle, "The people of Haiti need our help now. As Jews, and as citizens of the world, we see this concert as one action we can take to help relieve the urgent suffering of the Haitian people."

Scheduled artists for the three-hour concert 7 pm on Jan. 28th are top Jewish performers with styles ranging from Klezmer to Jewish hip hop including: Aaron Alexander, Adrienne Cooper, Alicia Svigals, Amy Coleman, Art Bailey, Avi Fox-Rosen, Basya Schaechter, Benji Fox Rosen, Cantor Dan Singer, Dan Rosengard, Eve Sicular, Frank London & The Klezmer Brass All-Stars, Gary Lucas, Greg Wall, Isle of Klezbos (Pam Fleming, Debra Kreisberg, Eve Sicular, Melissa Fogarty, Shoko Nagai, Saskia Lane), Jennifer Miller, Jeremiah Lockwood with Sway Machinery, Judith Sloan, Matt Darriau, Neshama Carlebach & The Green Pastures Baptist Church Choir, Pey Dalid, Noah Solomon, Richie Barshay, SIX13, Soulfarm, Veretski Pass (Joshua Horowitz and Cookie Siegelstein), Yiddish Princess (Sarah Gordon, Avi Fox Rosen, Yoshi Fruchter), Zalmen Mlotek, and others.
