WDCC is Proud to Announce the Videotaping of Johnson Controls as a Key Feature on 'Green Magazine TV,' a New Television Series Highlighting Some of the Most Energy Efficient and Technologically Advanced Organizations in the World

"Green Magazine TV's" on-site videotaping of Johnson Controls featuring its renewable energy services is currently taking place at the company's World Headquarters Campus in Glendale, Wisconsin

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- "Green Magazine TV" produced by Worldwide Digital Communications Corporation, is a new television series featuring ecology and energy conscious companies and organizations. This series will showcase some of the newest and "greenest" technologies being utilized, and is scheduled to be aired as paid programming on the Discovery Channel.

A video crew from "Green Magazine TV" is at Johnson Controls World Headquarters videotaping the facilities and interviewing Don Albinger, Johnson Controls VP for Renewable Energy Solutions, for a feature segment on "Green Magazine TV." Several renewable energy technologies including solar and geothermal, will be highlighted during the company's segment. Don Albinger explains the use of a two acre 385 kilowatt solar PV panel system that provides 450,000 kilowatt hours per year of energy - enough to power 50 average Midwest homes. The solar thermal system provides all of the domestic hot water use for over 1200 people at work every day saving 330 MBTUs of natural gas per year.

Geothermal is another form of renewable energy that is being effectively put to use at the facility. Albinger explains that underneath the solar field are 272 geothermal wells that are connected to the heat pump chiller inside the building. Since the earth has a great capacity for heat, the heat pump pushes building heat into ground during the summer or pulls heat from the ground into the building in the winter saving approximately 30 percent compared to traditional systems.

Most buildings in the United States cost around 5$ to $7 per square foot to operate, but the Johnson Controls World Headquarters cost is less than $1.60 per square foot. Combined with the energy efficient technologies that control the building are multiple renewable energy systems that provide a clean renewable source of power saving money that was once spent on energy and is now available for other purposes.
