Totem Artists, Inc. Releases T.J. Doyle's Debut CD 'One True Thing'
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles Independent Record company, Totem Artists, Inc., www.totem-artists.com announced today the release of Totem Artists recording artist T.J. Doyle's debut CD "One True Thing".
T.J. Doyle's "One True Thing" was co-produced, recorded and mixed by Grammy winning mixer Tom Weir at Studio City Sound, in Los Angeles.
T.J. Doyle is a lifelong musician, writer, and singer and writes songs about what he sees in the world and from the mind's eye, with themes that are universal and microcosmic at the same time.
One True Thing captures T.J. Doyle's unique and powerful style as heard in how the instruments express the nuances of each song and the drums and bass, with their pulsing and sometimes quiet strength, blend with the piano, organ, some accordion, and sometimes gritty and tapestry like guitars. Background vocals weave in and out of the strong melodies and substantive lyrics.
Here are two songs on One True Thing as reviewed by Janelle Schiecke.
"Let The Dance Begin" is a breezy and upbeat love song with a passionate message, that of salvaging a relationship gone astray and starting anew. The lyrics are very poignant, and the verse and chorus beautifully work together to carry the tone from one of despair and frustration to that of hope and encouragement.
"Men Need Love" is an honest and emotional plea to the societal norms of relationship dynamics between man and woman. As you hear hints of sorrow in the T.J. Doyle's voice, so too do you hear similar emotions arise from the sweetness of the strings to the delicate piano chords; a perfect blend of raw emotion and powerful instrumentals.
Besides T.J. Doyle's writing, singing, and guitar playing, his album features notable musicians who are artists themselves; Rock Deadrick, drums & percussion (Tracy Chapman, Ziggy Marley), David Sutton (Lucinda Williams), bass & cello, Bruno Coon, nylon stringed guitar (Randy Newman), Phil Parlapiano, grand piano, Hammond B3 and accordion (Lowen & Navarro, John Prine), Tim Pierce, electric & acoustic guitars (Crowded House, Eric Clapton), and Carina Round, background vocals.
One True Thing will available at most commercial digital distribution websites within weeks or shipped as a packaged CD. T.J. Doyle and One True Thing can be previewed at http://www.tjdoyle.net/.
