Concurrent Brings Three-Screen Video Experience to Life at SCTE Cable-Tec

ATLANTA, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Concurrent (NASDAQ:CCUR) , a worldwide leader in video and media data and advertising solutions, is showcasing its award-winning technology for a three-screen consumer video experience at SCTE Cable-Tec, running from October 28-30 in Denver, Colorado. The company will be demonstrating its video solutions that enable broadband operators to bring high-quality video to the television, personal computer and mobile device, as well as the software necessary for census-level data collection and advanced advertising.

Today's consumers are not watching less television, they are watching more. According to a September 2009 TV Pulse Survey, 78 percent of individuals under 35, and more than 50 percent of those over 35 planned to use technologies such as video-on-demand, DVRs and the Internet to watch their favorite fall primetime programs, while 81 percent of respondents said they are turning to time-shifting technologies to complement their live television viewing. Mobile video is also gaining significant traction. The Nielson Three Screen Report for the second calendar quarter of 2009 reports that the mobile video audience increased 70% from last year.

"Consumers today have more choices than ever about when and where to access video content and are actively exploring ways to complement their traditional television viewing," stated Dan Mondor, president and CEO of Concurrent. "Concurrent's technology helps broadband operators create compelling video applications and high-quality content experiences, accessible across multiple devices; these are differentiating services that drive subscriber growth and create new revenue opportunities."

Multi-screen delivery poses the additional challenge of collecting and correlating disparate viewership and operational data to provide a true, 360-degree view of the consumer experience. By extending our Media Data and Advertising Solutions (MDAS) to encompass online, television, DVR and on-demand video consumption, Concurrent will be providing the first complete, intelligent solution for collecting and correlating data from these disparate sources. This advanced data management will allow an operator's marketing, programming, advertising and operations teams to identify new opportunities for revenue growth and capitalize on operational efficiencies to reduce expenses.

At this year's Cable-Tec in booth 3059, Concurrent will showcase several significant updates to its portfolio that support this enhanced three-screen strategy, including:

-- Video to the PC and video to the mobile device -- Advanced video applications such as time-shifted television and video-on-demand -- MDAS media data management, interactivity, operational reporting and advanced advertising

Concurrent has 205 distinct video systems deployed in cable and telecom markets worldwide that represent approximately 21.5 million basic cable subscribers. The company's MDAS software serves over 38 million digital subscribers and aggregates and analyzes data from over 700 million video streams per month.
