Movie Gallery and Hollywood Video Donate $300,000 in DVDs to Operation Homefront
20,000 DVDs Collected Through DVDs For The Troops Program Will Help Boost Morale of Service Members
WILSONVILLE, Ore., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Movie Gallery, Inc. is proud to announce the completion of a successful campaign in partnership with Operation Homefront to lift the spirits of the brave men and women serving the United States. As a result of the DVDs for the Troops program, Movie Gallery, Inc. is donating 20,000 DVDs, worth almost $300,000, to Operation Homefront who will distribute the movies to service members and their families.
"Movie Gallery and Hollywood Video's DVDs for the Troops program recognized and honored our troops by providing military families with hours of entertainment, joy, and laughter during times that can be very difficult," said Jim Knotts, president and CEO of Operation Homefront. The DVDs for the Troops program allowed Movie Gallery and Hollywood Video customers to show their appreciation for the troops through entertainment donations. Movie Gallery, Inc. donated three used DVDs to Operation Homefront for every two $14.99 used DVDs purchased by a customer between August 10-30, 2009. Operation Homefront will distribute the DVDs in time for the holidays to deployed service members around the world and to wounded veterans and military families living in the United States.
