San Francisco - Home Box Office and INFORUM, a division of the Commonwealth Club, present the San Francisco premiere of BY THE PEOPLE: THE ELECTION OF BARACK OBAMA at the Cowell Theater (Fort Mason) on Thursday, October 22, 2009 before its November 3 debut on HBO. The premiere is one of nine exclusive advance screenings taking place across the country.
The event will also feature a candid discussion with Ronnie Cho, a standout member of the campaign staff and an inspiring American success story in his own right. The son of South Korean immigrant parents, Cho is currently working on the National Broadband Taskforce at the Federal Communications Commission.
BY THE PEOPLE is a unique exclusive, behind-the-scenes inside story of the Obama campaign, focusing on the candidate, family members, and staffers and voters who helped turn an unlikely American dream into reality. BY THE PEOPLE captures the fervor of the campaign volunteers as well as the extraordinary skill and resolve of its organizers. Notes Producer Edward Norton, "I think people will look back on this campaign as one that was conducted with a real understanding of communication and organizing tools that were singular to that moment."
BY THE PEOPLE: THE ELECTION OF BARACK OBAMA debuts exclusively on HBO, Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 9:00PM (ET/PT).
