WHAT: Several of the nation's most notable philanthropists will gather in Philadelphia Thursday, to celebrate the life and legacy of one of their own -- and one of Philadelphia's revered daughters -- the incomparable Leonore Annenberg. In a special tribute to be held Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 4pm, the invitation-only event will not only honor the late Mrs. Annenberg's remarkable philanthropic contributions, but will hope to inspire the next generation of humanitarian and arts patrons to pick up her torch and continue her mission. Spearheaded by H. F. (Gerry) Lenfest, Chairman of the Leonore Annenberg Tribute Committee, the event will combine reflection, video and performances by The Philadelphia Orchestra under the leadership of Chief Conductor Charles Dutoit.
