Cesar Millan and Scooby Doo Celebrate Birthdays with Special at East Valley Animal Shelter

Happy 40th! Happy Home!

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cesar Millan and Scooby-Doo have turned 40! The world renowned dog behavior specialist and beloved iconic cartoon character celebrated turning 40 together at their very own birthday bash Tuesday at the East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys, Calif. Participating in the festivities were some of Cesar and Scooby's favorite dogs available for adoption at the shelter, and Los Angeles City Councilman Tony Cardenas.

In honor of Cesar and Scooby's 40th birthday, Cartoon Network donated $10,000 to the Cesar and Ilusion Millan Foundation, supporting the foundation's efforts to increase dog adoptions. The Millan Foundation will sponsor "Happy 40th, Happy Home" at L.A.'s East Valley Animal Shelter in Van Nuys. Two dogs can be adopted for the price of one dog, thanks to Cartoon Network's generous donation.

"I'm so happy to have celebrated my 40th birthday with an icon like Scooby-Doo. And I'm thrilled to use this celebratory moment to promote the importance of giving more dogs a second chance at a forever home," said Cesar Millan. "There are many benefits to adopting two dogs together. As pack animals, dogs benefit from social interaction with their own kind, and they can keep each other company while you are at work for the day," says Cesar.

"The Millan Foundation is truly committed to helping Los Angeles reach a no-kill policy in our city animal shelters," said Councilman Tony Cardenas. "Cesar and Ilusion have continued to support solutions to the stray animal crisis. Their generous donation to the East Valley Animal Care Center is another example of their dedication to animal compassion and curbing the number of dogs and cats euthanized every year."

Currently, there are thousands of animals waiting to be adopted throughout the L.A. Animal Services six shelters. This special promotion will continue until there are 40 successful second adoptions at the East Valley Shelter. For more information, visit www.laanimalservices.com.
