MONTREAL, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Radio IP Software, Inc., North American leader in mission-critical Mobile VPN solutions today announced that it has acquired ipUnplugged AB, a Stockholm, Sweden-based developer of network services software for seamless and secure roaming across public and government LANs, WLANs, 3G (GSM-GPRS/EDGE/HSPA, CDMA-EVDO) and 4G (Mobile WiMAX, LTE) wireless networks.

Under the terms of the transaction, Radio IP Software has purchased the assets of ipUnplugged AB which include the ipUnplugged(TM) product portfolio featuring its Mobile Client, Roaming Client, Roaming Gateway and Roaming Server software as well as intellectual property including source code technology, trademarks and pending-patents. The ipUnplugged products are sold directly and via authorized resellers typically for government-sector contracts in Europe, North America and around the world.

Radio IP Software's focus since 1998 has been to provide wireless solutions to mission-critical mobile workforce organizations, primarily in the public safety and utilities sectors. Although the company's roots are in North America, the catalyst for its expansion into European markets was in 2006, when the company enhanced its flagship product Radio IP MTG(TM) and developed it to operate over TETRA networks.
