Sundance, One Year Later: 3ality Digital Follows Release of 'Visionary' U2 3D by Continuing to Break Barriers in Live, Digital 3D Entertainment

3D Film and Interactive Lounge at 2009 Sundance Film Festival Features Content From 3ality Digital

BURBANK, Calif., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- 3ality Digital, LLC announced that it is sponsoring the 3D Film and Interactive Lounge at the Sundance Film Festival, which kicks off activities today by introducing Festival media attendees to advancements in 3D entertainment over the past year.

3ality Digital launched its groundbreaking concert film, U2 3D, at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. U2 3D, which was the first full-length movie shot in live, digital 3D, has gone on to receive major acclaim, gathering accolades such as "a work of art" from the New York Times and "even better than the real thing" from USA Today, and earning a spot on multiple Top-Ten lists for 2008. The movie, which is distributed by National Geographic Entertainment, has proven to be a classic, and remains in current release in multiple markets internationally.

3ality Digital has followed the success of U2 3D - the company's first film - with another series of firsts: the first live 3D broadcast of an NFL game, Raiders vs. Chargers, which was shown to audiences in cinemas in three cities on Dec. 4th, 2008; the first live 3D broadcast of a football game available to the general public - the BCS Championship Game, which was broadcast to 82 theaters on Jan. 8th, 2009; and the first full episode of a television show shot in digital 3D - "Chuck," which will air on Feb. 2nd, 2009. 3ality Digital also shot footage for the joint 3D Dreamworks/SoBe Life Water commercial which will air during the Super Bowl on Feb. 1st, 2009.

The 3D Film and Interactive Lounge, which is located at the Stanfield Gallery on Main Street in Park City, will showcase the latest and most innovative 3D entertainment content on 3D-enabled HDTV's, which will become a viable part of home entertainment systems in the coming year. 3ality Digital will be showing footage from multiple projects in the Lounge, as well as sponsoring tonight's kick-off party. The Lounge will be open daily until January 23rd.
