'Sharing Miracles' Television Program Now Reaches Worldwide Audience

WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Sharing Miracles, a 30-minute public affairs television program that tells the compelling and inspirational stories of real patients, can now be viewed worldwide in its entirety at www.SharingMiracles.com. Sharing Miracles also airs on more than 235 television stations across the United States.

February's episode of Sharing Miracles will feature four-time Emmy Award nominee and former star of Family Ties Meredith Baxter, who works tirelessly as a breast cancer advocate after successfully battling the disease herself. Upcoming episodes will feature Pro Football Hall of Famer and multiple Super Bowl-wining coach Mike Ditka, who battles heart disease; Basketball Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins, who has diabetes; and World Series champion and Boston Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester, who has overcome lymphoma to pitch a no-hitter in the major leagues.

The new streaming format allows viewers to watch each month's entire episode from their computer at any time during the month. The online viewing option launches today, with a new episode featuring country music superstar - and Hepatitis C survivor - Naomi Judd.

"With 235 televisions stations airing Sharing Miracles each month, millions of patients are inspired by the stories of survival that our program tells," said Billy Tauzin, president and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, which produces the show. "People confronting serious illness or disease need to know - perhaps more than anyone else - that they are not alone. Now, viewers throughout America and, indeed, around the world are able to share in the hope that inspires our guests as they fight their battles with disease."

Previous episodes of Sharing Miracles have featured Academy Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden, a breast cancer advocate; Emmy Award-winning actor Joey Pantoliano, who suffers from clinical depression; Super Bowl Champion and former Pittsburgh Steeler running back Jerome Bettis, who has asthma; Olympic gold medal winners Mark Spitz (high cholesterol), Bruce Jenner (attention deficit disorder), and Greg Louganis (HIV); syndicated television talk show host Montel Williams, who suffers from multiple sclerosis; actor and Leave It To Beaver star Jerry Mathers, who is affected by diabetes; pop icon and Broadway star Deborah Gibson, who has suffered from devastating anxiety attacks; Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Len Dawson, who survived prostate cancer; and North Carolina State University women's basketball coach Kay Yow, a breast cancer survivor.
