Pucker Up. Netflix is Searching for the Best, Most Inspired Kissers in America

For Valentine's Day, Celebrating the Most Memorable Kisses In Cinema History with the Netflix Greatest Kiss Challenge

NEW YORK, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Inspired by Valentine's Day, the most romantic day of the year, Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is inviting America to make video recreations of the most memorable movie kisses of all time and earn the chance to reenact them live inside New York's Grand Central Terminal and win a dream weekend for two in Las Vegas. Three couples will be chosen to perform their kisses before a panel of judges here on February 13 in the culmination of an online video competition beginning today, and the winners will receive a memorable weekend in Las Vegas during 2009.

Movie enthusiasts, couples in love and amateur actors from around the country are invited to submit their best video re-enactment of a kiss from an admittedly subjective list of the 10 best movie kisses of all time as compiled by Netflix. Or, participants may recreate any other movie kiss of their choosing. Video entries will be accepted from today through February 9, 2009. For complete video submission guidelines and additional event details, please visit www.netflix.com/greatestkiss.

"From the romantic to the unexpected, movie kisses evoke emotions in all of us," said Leslie Kilgore, chief marketing officer for Netflix. "We think the 'Netflix Greatest Kiss Challenge' is an engaging way to celebrate classic movie moments and allow folks to have some fun and express some creativity in the process."

The top 10 movie kisses of all time, as compiled by Netflix, are: -- Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in "Casablanca," 1942 -- Burt Lancaster and Debra Kerr in "From Here to Eternity," 1953 -- Lady and the Tramp in "Lady and the Tramp," 1955 -- Charlton Heston and Kim Hunter in "Planet of the Apes," 1968 -- Al Pacino and John Cazale in "The Godfather: Part II," 1974 -- Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in "Ghost," 1990 -- Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in "Titanic," 1997 -- Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in "Spider-Man," 2002 -- Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in "The Notebook," 2004 -- Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," 2005

The "Netflix Greatest Kiss" event will be held inside Grand Central's vaunted Vanderbilt Hall on a stage custom-designed to include scenery and props. The Las Vegas prize includes two nights' accommodations at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, dinners at Paris Las Vegas' Eiffel Tower restaurant and Spago at The Forum Shops at Caesars, and two tickets to Cher Las Vegas and Cirque du Soleil's "Love" performances.
