Cox Communications to Offer All Digital Customers Access to HBO's Exclusive Inauguration Special

Herndon, Va., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications is pleased to announce that all digital Cox customers will have full access to HBO's exclusive Inauguration Special, airing live on January 18 at 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. PT with a replay at 7 pm ET/PT. We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, will be available for free regardless of whether a customer is an HBO subscriber. Any Cox digital customer can simply tune to channel 300 for full access to the special. Cox HBO subscribers will also have access to the event via HBO On DEMAND Monday, January 19 through Sunday, January 25.

The Opening Celebration for the 56th Presidential Inaugural will be held on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, on Sunday, January 18, (2:30 pm ET). The event will feature some of the biggest acts in the world of entertainment. President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect Biden will both attend the event, which will be free and open to the public.

Musical performers scheduled for the event include Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Renee Fleming, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, Bettye Lavette, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, John Mellencamp, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, U2, Usher, will.i.am and Stevie Wonder. Among those reading historical passages will be Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III, Queen Latifah and Denzel Washington. The Rt. Reverend V. Gene Robinson will give the invocation. Rob Mathes will be the music director and arranger for the backing band, which will support all of the artists. Additional performers will be announced as they are confirmed.
