Nude Olympic Protestor Files Claim Against San Francisco PD

Music Video of Arrest Footage Becomes #5 YouTube Hit

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Activist Filmmaker Bret Carr ("Passion of the Heist", "Gay After Tomorrow", "RevoLOUtion") was arrested in the Nude, center stage at the Mayor's VIP Reception area for the Chinese Olympic Torch in San Francisco on April 9th, 2008.

Carr and his cameraman gained illegal access to the heavily guarded Media area at Justin Herman Plaza, where Carr disrobed, twirled a Tibetan Prayer Robe and began singing his Anti-China/Pro-Tibetan Protest Song, "Dreamers".

While Carr was cuffed and wrestled out of the arena, Carr's cameraman escaped on foot from Police with footage of the incident.

Carr, performing as a singer/songwriter under the name "WAKE", has incorporated the arrest footage into a protest Music Video from his first album, "Wake Now!". Posted on Saturday August 2, 2008 at http://www.youtube.com/Wake , the footage was viewed over 38,000 times and became #5 most viewed musician of the day. Carr has filed a Claim (*1) for $100,000,000, against the City of San Francisco, citing false arrest, 1st Amendment Violations and negligent misleading of the public, deterring his effective right to Assembly.

Carr previously challenged 1st amendment violations when he was arrested in Santa Monica, California for painting "Dreams" on rice. He won a $40,000 judgment forcing Santa Monica to allow street performers to charge for their work in 2002. Carr has a long history of activist inspired arrests before becoming a Feature Film Director, and continues his work with the non-profit http://www.foundationforconscioushumanity.org/ to help At-Risk Youth.

As an activist and filmmaker, Carr came to national attention when the Hollywood Reporter made him filmmaker of the month for his 2 minute 20 dollar short film, "Passion of The Heist". Carr then directed the feature film, "RevoLOUtion" (2006), whose experimental theatrical release invented PAY AFTER marketing.(*2) Winner of 20 International Jury Prizes, Awards and distinctions, Carr, along with Oscar Winner Bill Conti, also wrote the musical theme to the movie.
