BirdChannel.com Announces 'The World's First Bird Dance-Off'

Pet birds finally get a chance to show off their dance moves

IRVINE, Calif., April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- BirdChannel.com, powered by Bird Talk and Birds USA magazines, announces the "The World's First Bird Dance-Off." Bird pet owners will have the opportunity to upload videos of their dancing birds for a chance to become the "Top Bird Dancer."

Owners submit a video of their bird dancing, and visitors vote for their favorite clip on BirdChannel.com. Bird Talk magazine will also be publishing a special "Basic Dance Steps" series in its June, July, August, September and October issues to help bird owners get their pet birds dancing. Birds will be judged on their dance style, rhythm and creativity. With fabulous prizes and bragging rights at stake, birds from all over are flocking at the chance to be crowned "The World's First Bird Dance-Off" champion.

Bird owners from around the globe have a chance to show off their pet's ability to groove, rock out, swoon or even moon walk. "Many people don't realize just how in tune birds are with music. I can't think of another pet that can keep perfect rhythm, which for a lot of parrots comes naturally. That's why we came up with the 'World's First Bird Dance Off' -- to show the world how unique and amazing pet birds are!" says Laura Doering, editor of Bird Talk magazine.

BirdChannel.com launched in November 2006 and has since grown into a bird community with more than 62,000 monthly visitors and nearly 7,000 user profiles. BirdChannel.com is powered by Bird Talk magazine, the world's largest pet-bird magazine, which caters to avian enthusiasts who want the very best for the pet birds, and Birds USA magazine, a one-stop guide to bird ownership that is published annually.
