NBC 5 Helps Viewers Track Storms With New Exclusive Technology

DALLAS-FORT WORTH, March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- NBC 5 introduces new, exclusive weather technologies in a half hour special, "Tracking Texas Weather" airing on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 6:30pm. "Tracking Texas Weather" will demonstrate the many ways North Texas viewers can track storms online, on TV, and on the go with mobile technology.

"Tracking Texas Weather" will teach families ways to stay safe during severe weather season by demonstrating the use of the new, interactive radar available on nbc5i.com. Viewers will also learn how they can see live radar and track flights on the exclusive m.nbc5i.com. With isee@nbc5i.com, North Texans can capture video or photos with a cell phone and share them with NBC 5.

"Tracking Texas Weather," continues NBC 5's tradition of Emmy Award winning storytelling. This year's show features a store manager who scrambled to save employees when his grocery store was hit by a tornado. Also featured will be a dramatic demonstration of why drivers should not drive through flooded roads. Viewers will also experience the groundbreaking coverage of severe weather events from the front seat of StormTracker H3, powered by Frank Kent Hummer. North Texas viewers will also get a look ahead to the upcoming spring weather.

NBC 5 Chief Meteorologist David Finfrock, Meteorologist Steve McLaughlin, and Meteorologist James Aydelott host "Tracking Texas Weather", with contributions from NBC 5 reporter Scott Gordon.
