Maxell Honors Independent Filmmaker Jeremiah Zagar at SXSW Film Festival

Zagar wins 'Emerging Visions Audience Award' for his film 'In a Dream'

FAIR LAWN, N.J., March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Maxell Corporation of America recognized Jeremiah Zagar on Tuesday at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival in Austin, Texas for his work on the film "In a Dream."

As the winner of the "Emerging Visions Audience Award," Jeremiah received a glass trophy featuring the Maxell "Blow Away" icon, a check for $2,500 for his next film and an additional $2,500 to give to a charity of his choice, courtesy of award sponsor, Maxell. The prize package also includes an Alpha Cine Labs & iScript Services, a Seagate hard drive and Movie Outline software.

Jeremiah's award winning film, "In a Dream," documents the life of his real-life father, Isaiah Zagar, an eccentric and tormented mosaic artist. In addition to its world premiere at the SXSW festival, the movie will also be screening at the Philadelphia Film Festival and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in April.
