Fox 61 Morning Show Helps Hartford Commuters Beat the Traffic(R)

Fox 61 launches innovative 3D traffic reports as part of Fox 61 Morning Show

HARTFORD, Conn. and CAMPBELL, Calif., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Fox 61, WTIC-TV launched the Fox 61 Morning Show, airing at 6am-8am Monday-Friday. Since morning commuter traffic is a key concern for the region's viewers, Fox 61 has made innovative traffic reporting a key feature of the show. In addition to bringing well-known Connecticut traffic reporter Rachel Lutzker to the team, the station has deployed leading-edge traffic reporting technology from Beat the Traffic to help create more useful, accurate and compelling traffic reports.

The morning show will be the first in the market to feature brilliant, high-definition 3D maps showing real-time traffic flow, speeds, incidents, and travel times on major roadways throughout the region. Rachel and her team will be able to quickly customize reports to "fly" into traffic hotspots or highlight late-breaking traffic news. The reporting solution combines the latest, most accurate traffic data, including traffic flows and speeds on major roads, construction, incidents and events.

"Our viewers look to the morning show for a better way to start their day, and we are committed to providing the best, most useful traffic coverage in the market," says Fox 61 News Director Bob Rockstroh. "Our visually striking traffic graphics complement Rachel's experienced reporting. Animated, color- enhanced maps provide an easy-to-understand picture of the latest traffic speeds and flows, while allowing Rachel to "fly" into traffic trouble areas -- due to accidents, construction, incidents or abnormal conditions -- to help our viewers plan their days and avoid delays."

"The Fox 61 Morning Show has set a new direction in morning reporting in Hartford, and we are pleased to be part of the innovation," says Andre Gueziec, President and CEO of Triangle Software, LLC, makers of the Beat the Traffic(R) software. "We are confident that Fox 61 viewers will appreciate the dynamic, high-definition traffic graphics and accurate travel times, incident information and forecasts."

Coming soon, Fox 61 viewers and the general public will also be able to view latest traffic conditions and incidents on the web and on their mobile devices throughout the day at fox61.com
