Consumer Reports Holiday Shopping Poll: Consumers Shopping Later and Spending Less

'Tis the season to give, but that's not the case for all Americans this holiday season. According to a new Consumer Reports Holiday Shopping Poll, nearly one-quarter of respondents anticipate they will spend less than last year. C-R's poll also found that the shopping season may get off to a slower start this year. Only twenty-two percent of consumers anticipate finishing holiday shopping right after Thanksgiving, compared to thirty percent in 2006.

Parents More Active in Raising Their Children; Children Get Less Television Time

Parents are taking a more active role in the lives of their children than they did ten years ago, according to data released today by the U.S. Census Bureau. Import and Crafts Drive U.S. Beer Sales Higher

The American beer drinker's passion for imported and craft beers continued unabated in 2006, pushing U-S beer sales back in the black after three years in the doldrums. As a result, sales in the U-S beer industry overall inched up one-point-seven percent last year to more than two-point-eight billion cases. The growth among imports was impressive, jumping twelve percent to almost four hundred million cases.

Red Light District to Distribute Amy Fisher Sex Video

Red Light District has announced it acquired the rights to distribute the Amy Fisher sex tape that will be titled "Amy Fisher: Caught on Tape." Red Light District made the transaction with Lou Bellera, Fisher's husband. The amount and terms of the deal were not disclosed. Red Light District made national news in recent years for its distribution deals of other celebrity sex tapes, including separate videos with Paris Hilton, Dustin Diamond, and Chyna.
