Las Vegas Students to Meet Olympic Skating Stars Who Highlight Importance of Staying in School

Capital One selects Communities In Schools as its nonprofit partner for the 2007 "Holiday Celebration on Ice." Local students to be featured in commercial and receive tickets to the performance.

   WHAT:       Approximately twenty-five Las Vegas fourth graders from               Reynaldo Martinez Elementary School will get the experience               of a lifetime when they meet and skate with U.S. Olympic               figure skating stars during a rehearsal for the Capital One               "Holiday Celebration on Ice."    WHERE:      The rehearsal will take place at the Orleans Arena in Las               Vegas, NV.    WHEN:       3:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.    WHY:        During the rehearsal on November 5, Capital One will shoot               footage for a public service announcement (PSA) featuring               students from Communities In Schools, the nation's largest               dropout prevention organization.  The 60-second PSA, which               will describe CIS' work to keep students in school and               prepare them for the future, will air on the NBC network               during the national broadcast of  the Capital One "Holiday               Celebration on Ice" show on December 25.  The PSA will               feature Olympic medalists Sasha Cohen and Brian Boitano with               CIS students from Reynaldo Martinez Elementary.    About Communities In Schools
