Fundacion Azteca America and Una Vez Mas Congratulate Civic, Operating and Media Partners for November 17 Vive Sin Drogas Drug Prevention in Phoenix

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Fundacion Azteca America and Una Vez Mas station Azteca America KPDF in Phoenix are pleased to announce a stellar group of community supporters for the U.S. debut of the Gira Vive Sin Drogas drug prevention tour to be held November 17 at ASU Gammage.

"Our local partners for this event are a key part of the success of the Gira Vive Sin Drogas. We look forward to building on this event and continuing across the country to spread this important message to our youth," said Luis J. Echarte, Chairman of Azteca America and Fundacion Azteca America.

We congratulate ASU Gammage, a state-of-the-art facility that is dedicated to supporting its community as platinum operating partner.

"ASU Gammage is honored to be hosting the U.S. premiere of Gira Vive Sin Drogas. Our mission is 'connecting communities', which will only be possible if our youth have a drug-free future and can then explore the positive worlds of art, education, and culture," says Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, Executive Director of ASU Gammage. "In keeping with the vision of the New American University, this important event will engage our communities and provide access to vital information on health, welfare and the future education of our youth."

We would also like recognize as Gold partners Mayor Hugh Hallman of Tempe, Mayor Phil Gordon of Phoenix, Mexico's Consul General in Phoenix, Carlos Flores Vizcarra, and Chicanos por la Causa.

To help bring home the message of Vive Sin Drogas, which is to live drug- free, we would also like to recognize important media partners. Platinum Media Partners include: Radio Campesina, Prensa Hispana and Que Magazine. Our Gold Media Partners are Teleguia en Espanol, Clip Magazine, Local Phoenix Entravision radio stations Superestrella and Tricolor, and local Univision Radio stations La Nueva and Recuerdo. Our Silver Media Partners are La Buena Onda and Radio Siete.

"Our local media partners are a key part of the promotion of this great event and even greater cause. We thank all of them for their contributions," said Nora Crosby, Senior Vice President of News Operations for Una Vez Mas.

The Vive Sin Drogas Tour was launched in Mexico in 1999 to spread the message of living drug-free. To date, Fundacion Azteca has held 70 tours in Mexico to a combined audience of 250,000 people. The event targets Latino adolescents and their parents, with the goal of creating awareness about the consequences of drug, alcohol and food abuses. The United Nations granted the Vive Sin Drogas campaign its Vienna Civil Society Award in 1999 for its contribution to the betterment of society.

The four-hour program presents Azteca on-screen talent, with psychologists and medical doctors to talk about the emotional and physical effects of drug use. Also present will be recovered addicts, who share their inspirational stories. To keep the interest of our young audience, the event will also feature La Academia musical entertainers Erasmo and Colette.

Don't miss the Gira Vive Sin Drogas on Saturday, November 17, 2007, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the ASU Gammage.

Admission is free. For ticket information, contact Irma Madera (see contact info below).
