LATV Closes Deal For New Comedic Animated Series
'Caesar and Chuy' Premieres Tomorrow as Bilingual Network Expands Original Production Library
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- LATV Networks, the nation's first bilingual music/entertainment network distributed via digital multicast, announced today that it had signed an agreement with Over-Man Productions for the comedic animated series Caesar and Chuy. The second animated series in LATV's original programming block, Caesar and Chuy will premiere tomorrow, November 8 at 9:30 p.m. PT.
"Our viewers look to us for edgy and fun programming, reflecting the bicultural and bilingual experience in America. Caesar and Chuy provides exactly that -- an irreverent slice-of-life commentary that is classic LATV," said Rick Najera, VP Programming Development, LATV. "This series is funny, top-notch and very on-the-mark. We certainly think it will connect with our audience nationwide."
Caesar and Chuy are animated rockers and music video critics that comment on people and music from their very cheeky point of view. Artistic Warfare and Alfonso Arney Designs have teamed up as Over-Man Productions to produce the new animated series. The executive producers are Keu Reyes and Alfonso Arney. The voice of Caesar will be played by Nut'n Nice creator/writer Mr. Reyes and the voice of Chuy will be played by Mr. Najera.
LATV's first foray into animation was The Homies Hip-Hop Show based on the worldwide figurine phenomenon created by Dave Gonzales. The stop-motion, one-hour program is animated by Nicholas Romero. The series is written by Renee Sandoval, Oskar Toruno and Mr. Najera who also wrote for MAD TV and In Living Color as well as creating Latinologues. Airing on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. PT, the show consists of eight to 10 sketches with interlaced music videos. Skits on the show parody popular culture as well as skewer life in general.
