The 2007-08 Quest to Find America's Toughest City Heads to Atlantic City

The 2007-08 Quest to Find America's Toughest City Heads to Atlantic City

World Combat League's 'Turf Wars' at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort on Dec. 1

DALLAS, Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlantic City-area MMA fans hungry for fast-paced action and the highest knockout rates in the sport won't want to miss the World Combat League's first ever stop along the Jersey shore -- Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort.

Tickets to the event that features fierce "Turf War" battles between all four of the WCL's Eastern Conference teams (the St. Louis Enforcers, Miami Force, New York Clash and hometown New Jersey Tigers) will go on sale on Friday, Nov. 9 at all area Ticketmaster locations. Tickets begin as low as $15.

The league opened the 2007-08 season on Oct. 19 with all four Western Conference teams in action at the Denver Coliseum.

"We're very excited to bring the WCL to Atlantic City," said the league's founder and martial arts icon, Chuck Norris. "We think we have the most exciting product in all of MMA. Last year our bouts featured a 33-percent knockout rate -- by far the highest such rate in any contact sport. Combine this with our short bouts (each individual fight lasts no longer than three minutes) and the sheer number of bouts we fit into our team concept, and the entire evening unspools like a You Tube highlight video."

After a highly-successful inaugural season that surpassed even the most optimistic projections for arena attendance and television ratings, the World Combat League returns this fall with three new teams, an expanded bout schedule and a more comprehensive television agreement with the VERSUS network.

VERSUS will package the season into 20 one-hour shows, which will also be distributed internationally. A complete 2007-08 WCL schedule is available at the WCL's website, wcl.tv.
