Impassioned Filmmakers Showcase Their Talent At The Environmentally Focused

      Film Event Hosted By The Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanic Garden                        Saturday, October 13, 6:30 PM               Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden       WHAT:  As a record setting drought continues in Southern California,             The Intelligent Use of Water Film Festival is giving filmmakers             from around the world an unprecedented opportunity to use film             as a medium to bring about a greater awareness of the need for             water conservation. Six finalists and their short films will vie             for cash prizes totaling $9,000 during the screening event that             benefits the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden plant             conservation programs.  This year's Intelligent Use of Water             Film Festival finalists are:              --  A Drop of Life -- filmmaker: Shalini Kantayya -- Brooklyn,                 NY             --  Poop at the Zoo -- filmmaker: Chris Popenoe -- New York, NY             --  Would you Like Water with That? -- Filmmaker: Abigail                 Cole-Belnap -- Henefer, UT             --  Carpa Diem -- filmmaker: Sergio Cannella -- Palermo, Italy             --  Adventures of I Heart H2O Man! -- Filmmaker: Ethan Van                 Duzer -- Boulder, CO             --  The Water Road -- filmmaker: Mark E. Petersen -- Denver, CO               The panel of judges for the competition includes experts from             the American Cinema Foundation, the American Film Institute, the             University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts and             the University of Arizona's Rogers College of Law.
