Baseball Fans and News Junkies Cheer as Comcast Launches TBS and CNN in High- Definition Format

Comcast Customers Can Watch MLB Playoffs and Presidential Primary Season in HD

BOSTON, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast, the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, today announced the simultaneous launches of TBS and CNN in High-Definition (HD), adding two more of the most popular cable channels to its already extensive HD lineup in Massachusetts and most of New Hampshire.

The launch of TBS in HD will deliver Major League Baseball fans a front row seat to all 27 potential games of the American and National League Division Series and National League Championship Series. The roll out of CNN HD will allow news and political junkies to watch the presidential primary season heat up in crystal clear HD.

TBS in HD offers a diverse mix of high-quality sports and variety programming, with a focus on comedy. In addition to Major League Baseball's Division Series and National League Championship Series coverage, viewers can watch the network's hit original series in HD, such as My Boys, Tyler Perry's House of Payne, 10 Items or Less and The Bill Engvall Show, along with viewer favorites like The Office, Everybody Loves Raymond, Family Guy, Friends, Sex and the City, King of Queens and Seinfeld.

CNN in HD is one of the world's most respected and trusted sources for news and information. Viewers will now be able to catch all of the latest news headlines and hit programs in HD, including Lou Dobbs Tonight, The Situation Room, Larry King Live and Anderson Cooper 360.

"We are committed to providing the best HD programming on the market," said Randy Waddell, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Comcast's NorthCentral Division. "The addition of TBS HD and CNN HD, combined with our already extensive HD lineup and more than 150 hours of HD ON DEMAND content, delivers our customers with the ultimate viewing experience. And as other networks begin to offer their content in HD, we look forward to expanding our already robust offerings to provide unparalleled entertainment for our customers."

"In providing more HD networks, our affiliates are able to provide a more robust choice in programming that gives an enhanced viewing experience for their customers," said Coleman Breland, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Turner Network Sales.

With today's announcement, Comcast continues its industry-leading pace of HD expansion, offering the most HD viewing choices and setting the standard for true HD quality.

To bring customers the most HD viewing choices, Comcast delivers 200 HD selections at any given time. In Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Comcast offers 28 HD channels and services, including CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS, CW, NESN HD, Versus/Golf Channel HD, ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD, MOJO, A&E HD, HGTV HD, Food Network HD, TBS HD, CNN HD, TNT HD, HD Theater, Universal HD, National Geographic HD, MHD, NFL Network HD, HBO HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime HD, Starz HD and Comcast SportsNet's New England Celtics Games.
