Alison Dexter Named Executive Vice President, Production, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group

NEW YORK, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group has promoted Alison Dexter to Executive Vice President (EVP) of Production, responsible for all television production for Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Noggin, Nicktoons Network and The N. The announcement was made by Sarah Kirshbaum Levy, Chief Operating Officer of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, to whom Ms. Dexter reports.

Based at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, Calif., Ms. Dexter's expanded role as EVP includes overseeing all planning for Nickelodeon production facilities; supervising all physical production and technical personnel; and managing all production budgets and plans for the networks under Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. Ms. Dexter oversees the daily operations of Nickelodeon's production studios, including Nickelodeon's Animation Studio in Burbank, its Digital Animation Studio in New York, Nickelodeon on Sunset in Los Angeles, and multiple other live action studios. She supervises all physical production for animation and live-action series, specials, TV movies, The N, and on-air promotion production for Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., and Nick at Nite.

In addition, Ms. Dexter is instrumental in keeping Nickelodeon at the forefront of new production technologies. She spearheads the network's efforts in CGI animation, partnering with leaders throughout the world to deliver theatrical quality animation to Nick. She has been a champion and leader in high definition production as well, ensuring that Nickelodeon was one of the first cable networks to deliver programming in high definition.

Ms. Dexter, a 16-year veteran of Nickelodeon, most recently held the position of Senior Vice President of Production. She was responsible for the expansion and development of the Nickelodeon Production Department, including the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, the former Nickelodeon Studios in Fla., and Nickelodeon on Sunset in Los Angeles. In 1999, Ms. Dexter oversaw the development and launch of Nickelodeon's New York Digital Animation Studio, which produces the Nick Jr. series Blue's Clues and Dora the Explorer.

Ms. Dexter began her career at Nickelodeon Studios, Fla. in 1991 as a Line Producer for the network's soap opera, Fifteen. She was later promoted to Production Manager, overseeing all production for Nickelodeon Studios. In 1993, Ms. Dexter was named Director of Production Management, overseeing all production management and domestic television production/development budgets for Nickelodeon's U.S. television operations. She moved from Nickelodeon Studios to the network's corporate offices in New York in 1995 and was promoted to Vice President of Production Management.

Prior to Nickelodeon, Dexter was Production Director on a 3-D film and a theme park for Sanrio Puroland in Japan. She was also Production Director for Studio Planning and Design at Universal Studios, Fla. where she oversaw the theme park and film studio for "The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera."

Ms. Dexter graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Business Administration.
