Las Vegas Hosts iPOP! Convention for the First Time at Venetian Hotel
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- John Robert Powers students from Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Miami and San Diego dominated the most coveted awards in acting, modeling, singing and dancing at last July's iPOP! (International Presentation of Performers) Convention held in Las Vegas. The spectacular Venetian Hotel played host to the iPOP! bi-annual event for the first time with much success. iPOP! organizers were thrilled with the welcome that Nevada Governor, Jim Gibbons and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman gave to the nearly 1200 iPOP! modeling, acting, singing and dancing contestants who arrived full of hopes to become America's next big star. Participants ranged in ages from six to twenty-five years old. Combined with the parents and chaperones the iPOP! talent showcase was attended by well over 2500 people who flew into Las Vegas to take advantage of the once in a life time opportunity to audition and be coached by the entertainment industry's top agents, managers and talent scouts. William Morris Agency, Universal Music Group, Geffen Records, Hollywood Records, iModels, Brown Leader Management, Elite Models and many other entertainment companies sent their best talent scouts to iPOP! hoping to discover the next big talent in acting, modeling, singing and dancing.
iPOP! Las Vegas highlights included the return of the choreography team of Jeri Slaughter and Paul Morente who lead the iDance iPOP! division. With a degree in dance and theatre, this pair has collectively amassed credits and accolades that have made them ingenious innovators in their field. They have appeared in dozens of commercials, sharing the stage with artists such as Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez and most recently worked on Christina Aguilera's last world concert tour and her "Dirrty" music video which garnered nominations and wins at the VMAs. As actors and dancers, Slaughter and Morente have had guest-starring roles in top shows like "Friends" and "Will and Grace" and are currently developing a sitcom.
iPOP! President, Joseph Beauchamp and Vice-President, Tiffany Rochel were both thrilled with Las Vegas and The Venetian Hotel. "We were very impressed with the professionalism and organization that The Venetian convention services provided for iPOP! especially considering it was the first time iPOP! came to Las Vegas," said Beauchamp and Rochel in a joint statement. "The mere size of the convention area along with the Venetian staff's attention to detail made for a very pleasant environment and experience for iPOP! management and participants.
