LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Tree Media Group announces the August 17th release of Leonardo DiCaprio's "The 11th Hour." The feature length environmental documentary was directed and co-written by Tree's founders Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners, while Brian Gerber of Tree Media produced.

"The 11th Hour" was co-written and narrated by Mr. DiCaprio, who said about the film, "It's a group of filmmakers that I've been working with, and it became sort of family film, we didn't want any corporation or any studio there from the onset, just the great innovators and thinkers."

"The 11th Hour" documents the cumulative impact of human actions upon the planet's life systems and calls for restorative action through a reshaping of human activity. With the help of over fifty of the world's most prominent thinkers and activists, including reformer Mikhail Gorbachev, physicist Stephen Hawking, and Nobel Prize winner Wangari Maathai, "The 11th Hour" documents the grave problems facing the planet's life systems. However, the most powerful element of "The 11th Hour" is not a portrait of a planet in crisis, but the offering of hope and solutions.
