Equity Media Announces Strategic Affiliation with MTV Tr3's in New York

EMHC to Launch Latino Youth Network in New York Market

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Equity Media Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ:EMDA) , one of the largest owners and operators of television stations in the United States, announced today that it will launch an MTV Tr3's affiliate on its newly-acquired New York station, WMBQ. MTV, a division of Viacom Inc. (NYSE:VIA) has extended its reach to millions of Hispanic consumers through MTV Tr3's. The new affiliate will be available over-the-air on channel 46 beginning in October.

MTV Tr3's programming blocks, which include specials, concerts, video countdowns and artist's picks, feature everything from rock to reggaeton, alternative to dance, punk to pop and give Latino youth a channel that reflects them, their diverse taste in music and their favorite Latino and American artists. Although music programming is at the core of MTV Tr3's, the network's programming slate also features lifestyle series, news, documentaries and other long-form programs that celebrate U.S. Latino's hybrid identity and culture.

WMBQ's new programming lineup will include a combination of original productions and favorites from the extensive MTV library, customized for the U.S. Latino audience. The channel's signature show is "Mi TRL," hosted by VJ Carlos Santos from the MTV studios in Times Square. MTV's mega hits "My Super Sixteen" and "Pimp My Ride" are customized for the MTV Tr3's airwaves in "Quiero Mis Quinces" and "Pimpeando."
