Charter One Bank Extends Making Music Matter's Second Season

New concerts added to innovative fundraising initiative with goal of raising $100,000 to help area non-profits

CHICAGO, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Charter One Bank announced today the addition of seven new concerts at the Charter One Pavilion that will feature its innovative Making Music Matter program. Making Music Matter supports local 501 (c) (3) non-profit organizations that provide access to the arts and music education to Chicagoans of all ages and has committed to raising $100,000 for their community partners.

   New concert dates include:    -- August 23: The Goo Goo Dolls with Lifehouse   -- August 24: Hillary Duff with The Click Five   -- August 31: Ali & A.J. with Corbin Bleu, Drake Bell and Bianca Ryan   -- September 2: The Download Festival featuring The Shins, Band of Horses,      Snoop Dogg and more   -- September 10: Stevie Wonder   -- September 20: Common with Joss Stone   -- September 27: Beastie Boys    

Concertgoers are encouraged to make a monetary donation at the Charter One tent during the concerts. For those not attending concerts, they may also support Making Music Matter by making contributions at Charter One branch locations throughout Chicagoland. In addition, those looking to support the program in other ways may also donate gently-used musical instruments at both the Charter One Pavilion and at all bank branch locations.

Beneficiaries of this year's program are the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, The Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, Merit School of Music and the People's Music School.
