2008 NHL All-Star Weekend Comes to Atlanta, January 26-27
NEW YORK, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Atlanta Thrashers and the city of Atlanta will host the 2008 NHL All-Star Weekend, January 26-27. The centerpiece of the mid-season spectacular will be the 56th NHL All Star Game, which will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27 at Philips Arena in downtown Atlanta and will feature the best players in the National Hockey League.
The 2008 NHL All-Star Weekend also will feature a variety of entertainment, hockey-themed grassroots events and charitable activities throughout the city of Atlanta. Details on other All-Star Weekend events will be released at a later date.
Among the All-Star events: Saturday, Jan. 26 NHL SuperSkills Philips Arena (One Philips Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30303) The NHL All-Stars show off their skating, puck-handling and shooting skills in the Dodge/NHL SuperSkills event. VERSUS will provide live national coverage of the event in the United States. CBC and RDS will broadcast the event live in Canada. Sunday, Jan. 27 NHL All-Star Game Philips Arena (One Philips Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30303) The 56th NHL All-Star Game pits the League's best players against one another in an East-versus-West format. The All-Star Game will be televised live on VERSUS in the United States and CBC and RDS in Canada.
