Media Advisory: The Next Mayor Project Hosts Candidate Forum at WHYY

WHAT: The five leading Democratic challengers for the Philadelphia mayoral seat will take part in a live Candidate Forum hosted by The Next Mayor project, Sunday, May 6 at 8:00 p.m. The forum will take place before a live audience at the WHYY Technology Center (150 N. Sixth Street) and will be broadcast live on WHYY TV12, 91FM, online at www.TheNextMayor.com and www.whyy.org, on WHYY's digital channels, and made available via Comcast On Demand. The discussion will be moderated by Marty Moss-Coane, host of WHYY 91FM's Radio Times. Questions posed to the candidates will be selected from questions submitted by the audience, which will be comprised of members of The Next Mayor project's Community Network, and invited guests.

WHYY will provide a mult box and live video feed of the forum for news media who would like to attend the event. Excerpts must be credited to WHYY.

Candidates will be given the opportunity to speak with press at the conclusion of the forum (approximately 9:00 p.m.).

Media must wear press badges and remain in the press area.

Print photographers will be permitted to shoot the candidates on set five minutes before the forum begins.

WHEN:

Sunday, May 6, 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (Forum will run from 8:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., followed by a town hall meeting from 9:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.) WHYY asks that all outside media arrive no later than 7:30 p.m.

   WHERE:   WHYY Technology Center, 150 North Sixth Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106    *Parking is available for media in WHYY's 7th Street (Gravel) Parking lot.   *Press should enter WHYY through the rear parking lot entrance.   *A WHYY representative, will escort media to the press room.  

* Photographers will have access to the forum set for 5 minutes immediately before the forum begins.
