"AARP is committed to expanding the services and programs we provide to our Hispanic members and we're thrilled to be supporting such an exciting program that celebrates the successes of this community," said Emilio Pardo, Chief Brand Officer, AARP.

Celebrating the contributions of Latino artists from the worlds of film, television and music, the 2007 ALMA Awards will be broadcast on June 5, 2007 on the ABC Television Network. Television and film superstar Eva Longoria ("Desperate Housewives") will reprise her roles as host of the event, as well as producer. The two-hour special is organized by The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) -- the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States.

"I was excited to hear AARP has once again joined our team this year," said Eva Longoria, of ABC's Desperate Housewives and co-executive producer for NCLR's 2007 ALMA Awards. "My mother and I were on the cover of AARP Segunda Juventud a few years ago and I can personally attest to the importance and relevancy of the information they provide to their members -- and their families -- that addresses the 50+ community."
