Simplifi Digital Announces Audio Amplifier Designed Specifically for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
First of a Series of Products Designed to Make the 'Digital Living Room' a Reality
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Blazing the trail for the "Digital Living Room," Simplifi Digital today announced the release of audio amplifiers designed specifically for PCs running Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. The "75" series amplifiers -- available in both 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound versions -- will begin to deliver next month.
All-In-One
The decades-old living room paradigm of multiple stacked boxes and remote controls is being upended by Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, which enables home entertainment enthusiasts to purchase an "all-in-one" device that plays back DVDs and CDs, records TV shows, plays and archives music and photos, and downloads music or movies from the Internet. The Media Center PC gives users a wide array of entertainment capabilities and seamlessly ties in with today's home entertainment system trends -- compact and unobtrusive, yet extremely powerful.
Simplifi Digital's "75" series audio amplifiers support the "all-in-one" vision and provide the following advantages over traditional receivers:
-- Power and volume are controlled through Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, eliminating the need for a separate remote control; Supports Media Center standby mode -- Balance and equalization are set through motherboard audio or sound card, allowing users to set up their sound systems with a full Graphic User Interface (GUI) -- Analog inputs ensure that the system is taking full advantage of the powerful signal processing capabilities built into motherboard audio or sound cards -- Low Distortion and High Power-Simplifi's amplifiers offer crystal clear yet ear-blowing audio -- The Simplifi amplifier works with traditional PCs as well, allowing users to utilize a high-quality audio solution in the den or bedroom, in addition to the "digital living room". Most consumers use low- quality powered speakers with their PCs and ultimately miss much of the audio quality. Simplifi amplifiers allow computer users to hear their games and music the way they were meant to sound
"Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 is an excellent product with so many options for home entertainment enthusiasts," explained Marty Holloway, CEO of Simplifi Digital. "Simplifi's amplifiers complement the richness of capabilities found in Media Center Edition 2005 and enable it to mesh easily into virtually any living room. The amplifiers are easy to set-up and use, and can really be considered natural extensions of Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, transforming any room into a true 'digital living room.'"
"Simplifi Digital's audio amplifiers are a great example of the work industry partners are doing to enhance the Media Center experience in the digital living room," said Dave Mendlen, director of Windows Consumer Marketing at Microsoft Corp. "We're pleased that Simplifi has designed the '75' series amplifiers with Media Center users in mind."
Surprisingly lightweight at only 25 pounds and priced under $500 per unit, the "75" series amplifiers include models 5075 (5.1 Channel Surround) and 7075 (7.1 Channel surround).
Simplifi Digital's amplifiers include a USB cable, as well as RCA and 1/8 inch cables. A vertical mount kit is also included. To learn more about the "75" series of amplifiers, please visit www.simplifidigital.com.
