The event coincides with the opening of Digital Life, the ultimate consumer technology and entertainment event, which anticipates more than 35,000 visitors this weekend. The memorial service will feature a mock funeral, including an eulogy and a casket overflowing with VCR tapes. The company will give away free TiVo boxes while supplies on-hand last to the first fans who come to the Digital Life show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, NY at noon on Friday, October 14, 2005. To receive their free TiVo box, fans must bring an old VCR videotape and subscribe to the TiVo service at the event.
