Supplies for Hurricane Katrina Victims at D.C. Armory to Be Collected at D.C.'s XM Satellite Radio Building Starting Tuesday, September 6
WASHINGTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Hurricane Katrina victims are arriving at the D.C. Armory in southeast Washington. XM Satellite Radio, in partnership with the D.C. Armory and 1st District Metropolitan Police Department, is collecting basic supplies for the victims.
Starting Tuesday, September 6, at 7:00 a.m., XM is asking area residents, local businesses, and its employees to bring any of the following supplies to XM Satellite Radio headquarters at 1500 Eckington Place NE, Washington, DC (near the intersection of New York Avenue and Florida Avenue):
Toilet paper Toothbrush Toothpaste Hairbrush / comb Under garments (men, women, children) Diapers Soap Flip flops / shower shoes Blankets & pillows Deodorant Feminine products Contact lens supplies Other hygiene products
XM Satellite Radio staff will be coordinating the delivery of these items to the D.C. Armory. In the coming days and weeks there will be additional needs of clothing, toys, school supplies, and other items that XM will seek to collect.
